Blue Flute News

NutShell at
Celebration – It is a whole new ball of wax at
Celebration this
year, with our new venue. I need to know
what you
are interested in, as far as NutShell classes at
Celebration.
If you will be going to
Celebration, please go to
www.blueflute.com/CeleSurvey.htm to give me your
feedback
about what and when you would like regarding
NutShell training in Dallas.
Thank you! If you have already
filled in
the survey, thank you so much. I don’t need you
to do it
again (unless you have changed your mind about
something!)
Logistical
info for you – If you need information about the
hotels
around the Gaylord Texan, I have prepared an
information
page for you. Later this month, I will have
restaurant
info for you!
The Gaylord Texan is set back from
the main road enough
that it is
beautiful and feels very secluded. But, the
mall and
nearest hotels are only a 3 or 4 minute drive
away. Here
is some info about the hotels:
www.blueflute.com/HotelOptions.htm
If you have any questions about the
area, please let
me know.
I’ll be glad to help.
New
Consultant Flyers – Do you have a recruit who is ready
to get her
business organized? You can download NutShell
New Consultant Flyers here: www.blueflute.com/Flyers.htm
Please feel free to hand them out
liberally!
Find out more -
If you are not familiar with NutShell, you
can find
out more here:

Please Note:
I accidentally
deleted a BUNCH of emails a few days ago
while
deleting the hundreds and hundreds of spam emails
(no
exaggeration!) that I get daily. If you sent me an
email
and I haven’t responded, that
is probably why. Please
re-send
your message and I’ll answer right away. Let me know
you are
re-sending so I can give your message priority!

Feature Article –
Time Management – by Brian
Tracy
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
This article was contributed by
Iris Simmons, Unit VIP, Tyler Texas
FROM BRIAN TRACY'S TIME MANAGEMENT
SUCCESS LETTER...
Perhaps the most outwardly identifiable
quality of a high
performing
man or woman is "action orientation."
Take Time To
Think and Plan
Highly productive people take the time to
think, plan and
set
priorities. They then launch quickly and strongly toward
their goals
and objectives. They work steadily, smoothly
and
continuously and seem to go through enormous amounts of
work in
the same time period that the average person spends
socializing,
wasting time and working on low value
activities.
Getting Into "Flow"
When you work on high value tasks at a
high and continuous
level of
activity, you can actually enter into an amazing
mental
state called "flow." Almost everyone has experienced
this at
some time. Really successful people are those who
get
themselves into this state far more often than the
average.
In the state of "flow," which
is the highest human state of
performance
and productivity, something almost miraculous
happens to
your mind and emotions.
Double Your
Productivity
You feel elated and clear. Everything you
do seems effortless
and
accurate. You feel happy and energized. You experience
a
tremendous sense of calm and personal effectiveness.
Become More Alert and Aware
In the state of "flow,"
identified and talked about over the
centuries,
you actually function on a higher plane of
clarity,
creativity and competence. You are more sensitive
and aware.
Your insight and intuition functions with
incredible
precision. You see the interconnectedness of
people and
circumstances around you. You often come up with
brilliant
ideas and insights that enable you to move ahead
even more
rapidly.
Develop a Sense of Urgency
One of the ways you can trigger this
state of flow is by
developing
a "sense of urgency." This is an inner drive and
desire to
get on with the job quickly and get it done fast.
This inner drive is an impatience
that motivates you to get
going and
to keep going. A sense of urgency feels very much
like
racing against yourself.
Create A
"Bias For Action"
With this ingrained sense of urgency, you
develop a
"bias for action." You
take action rather than talking
continually
about what you are going to do. You focus on
specific
steps you can take immediately. You concentrate
on the
things you can do right now to get the results you
want and
achieve the goals you desire.
Action Exercises
First, select one major task confronting
you and launch into
it
immediately. Don't hesitate. Move fast.
Second, start doing this every morning,
first thing, until
it becomes
a habit.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
In my
Business, how do I…
Account for buying product at
different discounts?
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
When you purchase product, you
enter a Purchase Order
in NutShell by clicking the BUY button. As you add items to
the order, NutShell will automatically calculate
your
totals and figure your discount based on your
career level.
So, you don't have to worry about the discount, unless you
need to override it with a special offer from
BC.
If the discount on your order is
different than your
standard
discount, enter it in the Retail A discount percent
field in
the upper right corner of the Buy screen. If you
get a
special discount only on certain items (new products,
for
example), enter the special discount on the actual
product
line, in the discount column.
As far as your taxes go, you will need to know the number
of dollars you spent on product and there is no
significance
to how
much discount you got - how much you spent is all that
matters. NutShell keeps track of what you spend
based on
the info in each purchase order and logs it in
the Income
and Expense Log. The information found in the
Income and
Expense Log is what you will use to fill in the blanks on
your tax form.
However, at times it is helpful to know, in a broad sense,
what the value of your inventory is. Or how much
a sale
costs you in product. You can tell NutShell how
much
discount you usually get, and it will use that
figure to
give you an estimate of the value of your
inventory, as
well as an estimate of your cost on any invoice.
You can
find the estimated cost of an invoice at the
bottom of the
totals section on the invoice screen where it
says 'Total
Cost'. By default, NutShell will estimate the
value of your
inventory at 50%. If you most often buy product
at 50%,
this will work fine for you. If you usually buy
at 30 or
40%, you will want to adjust your NutShell program
accordingly. You can do this on the Setup
screen. Click on
the System tab on the main screen to find the
Setup Button.
In the field that says 'Retail A%', change the amount from
50 to your desired amount.
Remember that for your taxes, the number of dollars
you spend on product is what matters. This
information is
tracked to the penny in NutShell via purchase
orders and
the Income and Expense Log. The estimated cost
is for
informational purposes and will have no affect
on your
taxes.
Tips –
What to do Before
and After you hold a Spa
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Before you
hold a Spa
One of the most important things you can
do to insure a
good spa
is to hostess coach very well. Stay in contact
with your
hostess and guests. Use the Datebook to schedule
contacts
with the hostess and guests.
Reasons to make contact include:
- Get the guest list
- Send the invitations (or make
sure the hostess
sends
them)
- Remind the hostess to get
outside sales
- Confirm the party a day or two
before the scheduled date
After you
hold a Spa
When you hold a spa, you will come
home with new clients
and sales.
To process this info into NutShell,
do the
following:
- Enter new clients – Click
the ‘+’ on the Client/Colleague
screen
and enter the client name and other info that
you
want to remember
- Enter your sales – Find
each client on the
Client/Colleague
screen and click the Sell button (next
to
the Last Name).
- If you bought supplies for the
spa (foot tubs, dollar
store
gifts), enter the costs in the Income and Expense
Log
- If you need to order product to
fill your orders, do
this
on the Purchase Order screen (the Buy button).

Game –
Pass it on
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
This is another Ice Breaker game
that will loosen up the
group and help everyone get to know
each other. Use a small
wrapped
gift. It can be a ‘While Supplies Last’ or
discontinued
product that you want to get rid of.
Give the gift to the person who arrived
first, as in item
number one
below. Then move through the list, passing the
gift around. Feel free to add your
own items to the list.
You can even make it up as you go!
Give the gift to the person who:
1. Arrived first
2. Has the most children
3. Is the
tallest
4. Has been married the longest
5. Has the most grandchildren
6. Has the
largest earrings
7. Has the most buttons
8. Lost the most weight recently
9. Has the
bluest eyes
10. Has the most
rings on
11. Has the longest hair
12. Walked through the door last
13. Pass the gift to the right now.
