NutShell
Special – For consultants who sign up with me in
September, I have a special treat!
Not only will they get
a great
software tool for building a successful business,
but they will also receive a
discount on the NutShell
Combo, as well as a spa CD, called
‘Take a Deep Breath’.
Using this CD effectively takes
pressure off consultants as
they do
their spas. It combines words and music which has
been shown
to be especially effective in relaxing clients.
Consultants can focus their
attention on pampering the
hostess
and guests while the CD takes them into a deep,
relaxed
state.
The ‘Take a Deep
Breath’ CD was created especially for
BeautiControl consultants by a
BeautiControl consultant!
If you would like to learn more
about this CD, please

In my
Business, how do I…
Stay connected with all my clients
without
over-spending my valuable time and money?
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
In last month’s newsletter,
we discussed how important your
relationship
is with your clients. That special ‘warm fuzzy’
connection
you have with them is what keeps your business
thriving.
Otherwise, grocery or department store skin care
could end
up robbing you of both product sales and client
referrals.
So, you must
contact your clients on a regular basis! You
may have
reason to speak with some of your clients regularly.
For example, you and your client
may both have a child on
the soccer
team, or you may know each other from church.
Many clients, though, are not
available for casual contact
and you
will have to make a conscious effort to stay in
touch with them.
It doesn’t have to be a big
deal. You can send them a
simple skin care or relaxation tip
once each month, or
keep them posted about a sale or
open house you are having.
The easiest way to do this type of
regular communication
is through
email. It is inexpensive and somewhat
effortless!
Try to make sure that your emails
are personal enough that
they
won’t appear to be spam. If your message is interpreted
to be
spam, it is a damper on your reputation! When you ask
your
client for her email address, consider asking her to
put you on
her ‘accepted’ list if she is using some type
of
‘spam blocking’ utility. Let her know that you will be
sending
her occasional messages and reassure her that they
will
contain helpful tips and not a bunch of advertising.
When you write your emails, pay
particular attention to the
subject
line. Word it so that it is intriguing to the
client,
without sounding like a commercial. Your emails
won’t
do much relationship-building with your client if
she doesn’t even open it!
You can use NutShell to send emails
to all your clients in
the
following way:
-Click the Print button on
the Client menu
-Select the ‘Client’
report (first in the list)
-Select one or more of the Client
Priorities if you want
to target a specific group of clients
-If you are announcing an open
house, narrow the list by
entering zip codes to include or exclude
-Select ‘Create: Email’
-When your email program opens,
click ‘BCC’, then Paste on
the Edit menu. This will paste the email addresses of
your
clients into the email
-Type your message in the
body of the email and click Send!
It is possible that the group of
clients you want to email
could be
very large. Many internet service providers won’t
send an email to many, many
recipients because the email
could be
spam. To prevent your email from being blocked,
you may
need to break up your mailing into two or more
emails.
To do this, click in the body of
the email and click Paste
on the
Edit menu. This will create a list of all the email
addresses
that you want to send to. Copy and paste portions
of the
email address list into separate emails. For best
results,
limit your emails to less than 100 recipients
per email.
Note 1: If you are having trouble
getting your email program
to open
when following the steps above, start a new email
yourself.
Then click ‘BCC’ and then click Paste on the
Edit menu.
Note 2: If you don’t have a
‘Create: Email’ option on the
client
report screen, you will need to upgrade your
NutShell software: www.blueflute.com/upgrade260.html.
(If
you
started using NutShell this year, you should have the
most
current version of the software.)
NutShell Tip
–
New User’s Guide
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
An updated User’s Guide was
released earlier this year.
There are several new sections that
will make using your
software
even easier.
For example, the chapter titled
‘Common Tasks in your
Business’ (page 51)gives you
specific
steps to follow:
- Before you hold a Spa
- After you hold a Spa
- To process a returned
Product
and more!
There is also a chapter called
‘How to make the most of
NutShell’
(page 47).
And a new section in the invoice
chapter called ‘Where
invoices
show up in NutShell’. (page 148)
If you don’t have these pages
in your book, or you can’t find
your book J,
you can download it here:
www.blueflute.com/manual.pdf
Put the book in your NutShell
folder so that you can access
it easily.
To access it, click the Help menu at the top
of the
main NutShell screen.
If you have an ‘About’
menu, but not a ‘Help’ menu, you
have an
older version of NutShell and can upgrade here:
www.blueflute.com/upgrade260.html.

My Unit achieved the $200,000 level
this year for the first
time!

Game –
Grab Bag Party
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Here is a way to add some
‘extra punch’ to your Spas:
1. Invite 10 people to participate.
Prior hostesses would
be
a good choice. Tell them you are inviting only your
best
clients to take part.
2. Each person is to get $100 in
outside sales before the party
3. Each person that brings $100
orders to the party, will
get
to chose a Grab Bag.
The Grab Bags are made up of:
- 2 bags with $50 free merchandise
- 4 bags with $25 free merchandise
- 4 bags with $20 free merchandise
Profit: 10 sales @ $100 each =
$1000 sales
at 50% discount: $500 profit
less cost of bags: - $140
Final Profit: $360
Conduct your spa as normal to make
even more sales!
